intellectual emancipation
thinking open in a paradigm of enclosures
i am absolutely obsessed with the possibility that another world is possible. I mean think about it for a moment, the fact that a body, a vantage point of awareness has woken up as if from a bad dream, looked around, saw an impossibly complex superstructure that controls almost every fiber of our being, bodies, decisions making, worldviews, relational practices, passions desire and belief system, saw it all and decided regardless;
you know what tho? i think another world is possible and i’ll dedicate my life to building it.
and here and there, inside this diabolical mechanism of domination, more and more little flickering lights emerge, revolt, resist, despite it all, despite the enormity, the pain, the grief, the sheer scale and schizophrenic speed of it all—another world is possible.
another world is possible.
i don’t know…something about this feel so immense, so precious, so singular, it’s like touching a substance of reality, a cross generational stream of emancipatory energy, of all those who cared, who have seen, who have worked towards something bigger than the sum of their parts and were willing to put everything on the line for this, even their lives.
I want to belong to this lineage, i want to help morph it, take it to the limits and transform them, see what is possible to build together or die trying.
but here’s the thing, i feel like at the core of it all, this revolutionary passion, there’s a very simple kind of power, a will, Desire. it’s the universe striving to know itself. and you and i, we are this striving.
what i mean is; do you trust you ability to learn anything and build anything?
i mean really, to dive into any topic, any tough conceptual language, any form of art or creative expression, use any tool with confidence, read any philosophy book, engage with any scientific field. humbly, and take your time of course, but a deep knowing that if you dedicate yourself to it, you can do it.
you may even be answering a resounding yes right now but i want you to really take some time to think this through. think about all the many times each day you see, hear or read something you don’t immediately understand and either let it go over your head or project your already existing frame of reference to it.
when is the last time you followed a creative passion? read a really difficult philosophy book? built something useful or beautiful without any prior knowledge?
i know this is something a lot of us are struggling with, and it by design.
from day one in school we got used to the power dynamic of master-student, where someone is always explicating, orating and explaining to us what the text means. we went thought an entire education system designed to inhibit our capacity to trust our own intelligence and figure it out in favor of stuffing out brains with facts and training on how to spew them in tests.
in modernity, in a globalized system, we enjoy unparalleled comforts earlier humans could not even conceive of, yet, with all the infinite availability of information most of us know the most basic life skills like navigation, growing food, ritual design, fixing and repair or thing we use all the time…
put on top of that the stupefying mechanism of tech under capitalism, from social media fake empty “discourse and debate culture” to people relaying on garbage LLM to build their worldview, an internet so full with advertising trash that it does not even resemble the space of connection and co-creation it once was, and of course, let’s not forget the fact the way too many people don’t read anymore either because they don;t have time left between their 9-5 jobs or as a result of all the mechanisms mentioned above.
in any case, we are missing collectively on copious amounts of pure joy and the infinite potential of our spirit. we live inside a reality structured meticulously for us, convinced it’s all that is possible unable to imagine anything beyond it.
perhaps this is a call reverberating in this intellectual darkness, slumber.
remember? we are that striving. the universe knowing itself. not “we” as only humans, we as in the whole of this biosphere, all the human and more-than-human kin all around us.
do you think a bird second guesses itself before sparking in a morning symphony?
do mycelial networks experience self doubt?
will anything in the biosphere diminish it’s own light?
and why should you?
all intelligence is equal, there’s only a difference in will.
the intelligence that flow thought your body is the embodies through billions of years of planetary magnificence. you are born with no deficiencies, you do not need fixing, healing and endless self optimization and self help to feel, know and act on anything.
the same impulses that make the sun shine, the plants that transform its light to sugar is of the same substance you are made of and moved by. the entire fabric of organic life playing thought your body, as your body, making itself known.
Intellectual emancipation in this practice of making your brain forget that you exist as a continuous fixed subject which makes all inhibited impulses come alive at once. boom. here we are, here it is, and here’s is what can be done.
it’s a practice because this is something we develop moment by moment our entire lives.
you don’t have to ask me “but where should i start” for you already know. using your entire bodily intuitions, the wisdom offered to you both from the more-than-human all around you and the written word—you can learn anything and build anything and that is the first thing you must trust in order to join the lineage of world builders.
no one is coming to explain to you what thus means, no one is gonna send you an orderly invite to join the revolution at a particular date and time, you gotta just do it. your journey start here and now.
i am thinking a lot about of all this, constantly playing with new ways to exploit the cracks in capitalism, build alternatives and somehow communicate it all to you. i thought how wonderful it might be of we get together in a group and a for an entire day, we hold each other tenderly, laugh, play and practice intellectual emancipation together.
if this sounds cool to you, you can sign up to our upcoming “Sprawl - antidotes to helplessness,” it’s a full day intensive on a pay-what-you-want basis, starting July 26th at 9am CST.
and if you want to support my writings here and help me build, subscribing to this publication on Substack will be wonderful!
see you in the future!

Didn’t think a morning read on substack could be so healing but here we are
I don’t know when I heard you speak or what you said (although, ironically, you might). But I recognized your face, small as it is in the avatar on my iPhone screen. So so small and yet so so recognizable.
It’s an asset, your recognizability, to any movement. Not sure how much that matters in the grand scheme of things. Certainly not as much as the things you or I or anyone who favors this movement does. But it matters.
(A salutation:)
To the ones we see.
